City Hunter's Biggest-Ever Exhibition Lands at Namba Parks
The City Hunter Original Art Exhibition: Forever, City Hunter!! opened at Namba Parks Museum on July 11, 2026, and runs through August 23. It is the largest City Hunter exhibition ever assembled, with more than 400 original drawings by manga artist Tsukasa Hojo on display. The show marks the 40th anniversary of the series, which began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1985 and ran through 1991.
The exhibition first ran in Tokyo at the Ueno no Mori Museum from November 22 to December 28, 2025. The Osaka leg at Namba Parks Museum is the Kansai showing, with the same 400-plus original drawings and several Osaka-only additions. The venue is on the 7th floor of Namba Parks, at 2-10-70 Nakanaka, Naniwa-ku, and is directly accessible from Namba Station via the Nankai lines and the Metro Midōsuji and Sennichimae lines.
What is actually on the floor
The exhibition is structured in seven chapters that trace the bond between the two leads, Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makimura. The 400-plus original drawings are the core, but the show also includes reference materials, a special video piece, and a set of photo spots designed to put visitors inside the story. The three most discussed photo spots are the Shinjuku Station East Exit message board where clients write "XYZ", the shooting range in the basement of Ryo's apartment, and the Cat's Eye café, where life-size statues of Ryo and Kaori stand.
The "100t hammer", the recurring comic weapon Kaori uses on Ryo, is also installed as a physical exhibit. A message board replica is set up at the entrance, the same prop that became a fan photo spot in the Tokyo run. The exhibition allows photography with smartphones and tablets only; dedicated cameras, tripods, selfie sticks, and video recording are not permitted.
Tickets, timed entry, and the opening-day rule
General admission at the door is ¥2,500 for adults and ¥1,100 for elementary and junior-high school students. Preschool children enter free with a guardian. Advance tickets are slightly cheaper at ¥2,300 and ¥900 respectively. There is no group, senior, or disability discount on the ticket price itself, but a person with a disability certificate may bring one accompanying caregiver in free.
The ticketing system uses timed entry. The entire opening day, July 11, requires a timed-entry ticket. For every other day of the run, the 11:00 to 12:00 slot requires a timed-entry ticket, while entry from 12:00 to 17:30 (last entry) is open to standard tickets. Timed-entry tickets are sold exclusively through eplus. Standard tickets are available through eplus, e-tix, Lawson Loppi, Pia, Seven Ticket, CN Play Guide, Asobii, KKday, and the Bijutsuten-navi ticket app. A partner ticket for two at ¥4,200 was sold during a limited window from May 16 to July 10.
The museum is open 11:00 to 18:00 daily, with last entry at 17:30. It is closed on August 17. The goods shop is in a separate hall on the same floor, Parks Hall, and you must have a valid exhibition ticket to enter it. Re-entry to the exhibition hall is not allowed once you leave.
Osaka-only goods and the Namba tie-ins
A range of merchandise is sold only at the Osaka venue. New items for the Osaka run include an acrylic stand of Ryo and Kaori at ¥1,980, a metal bookmark at ¥1,980, and embroidered keychains of Ryo and Kaori at ¥1,320 each. Two bundle items are sold as ticket add-ons: an original snow globe at ¥7,500 and an original pin set at ¥10,500, both limited in quantity.
The exhibition is tied into a wider Namba campaign. A collaboration café runs for the full duration at #702 CAFE & DINER on the 7th floor of Namba Parks, with a themed menu and a random original coaster (8 designs) given with each order. A Namba Gourmet collaboration with participating local restaurants gives an original clear card (4 designs, random) to anyone spending ¥1,500 or more, with a lottery entry for original goods.
Nankai Electric Railway is running a City Hunter-themed train on the Nankai and Kōya lines from July 6 through August 23, with a special headmark. Nankai collaboration goods sold only at the exhibition venue include a "chokoderu" series (4 designs, ¥1,430 each), a Tsūtenkaku collaboration compact mirror at ¥1,320, and an original spoon set at ¥1,100. Every visitor with a paid ticket also receives one random original sticker from a set of 7 designs, while stocks last.
Who this is for
The exhibition is built for existing fans of the manga or the anime. The 400 originals are the draw; if you have not read the manga, the show still reads as a dense gallery of Hojo's draftsmanship, but the photo spots and the goods lean heavily on prior familiarity with the characters. If you are visiting Dotonbori and want a break from the food-and-shopping circuit, this is the most substantial cultural exhibition in the Namba area this summer. Pair it with the café upstairs and a walk along the canal after 19:00, when the Mantosai lanterns are on.
