acosta! is back on the Dotonbori canal on 17 and 18 October 2026. If you have only seen photos of Glico with a crowd in costume, the part that surprises first-timers is the ticket. Everyone pays. Cosplay, camera, or just walking the route with a phone. The event page has hours and yen. This is the walk-through: where you actually change, what is not included, and why the 10:30 ticket is a different morning from the 12:00 one.
Buy a Saturday or a Sunday. They are separate carts
staca listed tickets from 20:00 on 10 August 2026. Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 are different product pages, 62188 and 62189. There is no weekend pass. Early 10:30 to 18:30 is ¥2,880 advance, ¥3,400 at the door. Standard 12:00 to 18:30 is ¥2,580 / ¥3,100. Junior high and high school, camera or general only, ¥1,180 / ¥1,500 with a valid student ID at check-in. Forget the ID and you pay the gap to the adult price. Elementary is ¥500, costume or camera, and an adult with a full-price ticket must stay with them. Under elementary is free and does not need a ticket. Photography stops at 17:30.
Early tickets do not skip the standard line after 12:00. Once the noon wave starts, you wait in the same queue. Changes and refunds are refused. If a type is sold out, the door will not reprint it. Camera and general tickets have no luggage cage. You walk all day with the bag you brought from Namba Station.
You change at Chuo Sports Center, not under the Glico sign
Costume check-in and changing rooms, women and men, are at Chuo Sports Center, 2-12-31 Shimanouchi. That is north of the canal, not on Dotonbori-suji itself. Luggage storage is only for people with a changing-room ticket. Camera and general guests check in at the riverside booth and stay in street clothes or whatever they already wore from the hotel. Lines form about ten minutes before each wave. Do not camp the door at 9:00. Staff will move you.
The shooting ground is the canal. Ebisubashi, the Glico sign, Kuidaore Taro, and the north bank are the obvious frames, which means they are also the slow ones. Official maps split a wide-area sheet and a canal sheet. Save both before you lose mobile data in the crowd. A beginner briefing sits near the acosta booth from 13:00. It is how to use the event, not a lighting class. Exchange badges are ¥100 at the booth, no change given.
The boat and GiGO are extra, with their own rules
Tombori River Cruise from Tazaemonbashi is about 20 minutes, 11:00 then at :00 and :30. Adults ¥2,000, students ¥1,000, children ¥500. That fare is not inside the acosta ticket. If you want the water shot of the signs, budget the extra and the wait. Official photographers wear logo vests. Data delivery needs a staca account. Assigned shooters this year include Kurokawa both days, Papa-san support on the 17th, Kassy and Kenji-5K support on the 18th.
GiGO Osaka Dotonbori Honten lets costume guests use the arcade, print-club machines, Fanfancy+, and the taiyaki stand. Phone selfies are fine. Lighting kits, long occupation of a machine, and blocking the aisle are not. Hacoamu Osaka runs a meetup both afternoons, 14:30 to 16:00, rock-paper-scissors against staff plus small genre off-meetings. That is inside the paid area for people already on an acosta ticket.
Hashtag is 道頓堀コスプレ祭. Namba Station on Osaka Metro, Nankai Namba, and Kintetsu Osaka-Namba are the usual approaches. Walk to Ebisubashi, then follow staff to either the sports center or the riverside booth. Do not treat the Glico photo pit as the changing room. It is not.
