Osaka might be the food capital of Japan and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that these waffles are right up there with takoyaki and okonomiyaki. Simply delicious.

Manneken, named after Brussels' famous Manneken Pis statue, is a beloved Japanese Belgian waffle chain that has been serving freshly baked waffles since 1986, with its Nankai Namba Station branch located on the 3rd floor of the station concourse. The chain became enormously popular among Kansai commuters and travellers, with the irresistible aroma of warm waffles drawing people in as they pass through the station. The Namba Station location is strategically positioned for grab-and-go convenience, making it a favourite stop for both locals and tourists navigating Osaka's busiest transit hub. The menu features a rotating selection of waffle flavours including plain, chocolate, maple, almond, Uji matcha green tea, cookie and cream, and seasonal varieties such as salted caramel and honey lemon with black tea. Mini waffle packs and waffle rusks are also available, making excellent souvenirs. The store operates daily from 10:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and until 21:00 on weekends and holidays, with no regular closing days. Prices are very reasonable, with individual waffles typically costing a few hundred yen each. Whether you need a sweet pick-me-up between trains, a gift to take back to your hotel or a tasty souvenir for friends and family, Manneken's Namba Station branch offers warm, comforting waffles that have earned a devoted following across Kansai. The simple pleasure of a freshly baked Belgian waffle, enjoyed on the go or savoured slowly, is one of Osaka's most accessible little luxuries.Based on 61 Google reviews

11/October/2025 Takeaway 1 plain waffle (¥170), was good! Not overly sweet & reasonably sized. Other flavours are available too. Staffs were friendly and prompt. Located just after the Nankai Namba Station's gantry.

We have to pass by this waffle store every-time my son has kickboxing class. We knew it was only a matter of time we gave it a try. Today was the day! The smell permeates throughout the whole subway. We were both not disappointed at all. Japan has truly perfected the art of the waffle!
