Isshindo is a respected Japanese wagashi (traditional sweets) maker founded in 1952 in Sakai, Osaka, with a branch on the basement food floor of Takashimaya Osaka in Namba. The shop is best known for its ichigo daifuku, a plump mochi rice cake filled with a whole seasonal strawberry and sweet red bean paste, crafted by hand each morning using carefully selected domestic strawberries and Dambaku-nankin azuki beans. The confectioner also produces fruit daifuku in various seasonal flavours, castella sponge cake made with Yodoran eggs, and an array of seasonal namagashi suitable for gifts and ceremonial occasions. The Takashimaya Osaka location offers the shop's full product range, including gift boxes, seasonal limited-edition sweets and traditional confections for celebrations and condolences. The department store setting provides a refined shopping environment where staff can advise on appropriate selections for different occasions. Opening hours follow Takashimaya's schedule, typically 10:00 to 20:00, and the store accepts various payment methods including credit cards. For visitors wanting to taste authentic Osaka wagashi or pick up a beautifully presented edible souvenir, Isshindo at Takashimaya Osaka is an excellent choice. Its long heritage and dedication to handcrafted quality ensure each sweet is a small work of culinary art.Based on 25 Google reviews

The counter is on the basement level 1, ladies. I wandered around the first floor, feeling dizzy! The staff were very enthusiastic. This brand is the most famous in Japan for ichigo daifuku, definitely worth trying!!
