About This Event / イベントについて
The てんしば夏祭り (Tenshiba Summer Festival) is the annual summer festival held at Tenshiba, the lawn entrance area of Tennoji Park. Over two days, a big wooden yagura tower rises in the middle of the lawn square and bon odori runs to a wide genre of music — from classic Kawachi Ondo to the latest J-POP. Choreography is explained, so first-timers can join without hesitation.
Around the dancing there is taiko drumming, paid handheld fireworks, and a row of yatai food stalls. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly — friends, couples, and families all share the park for a summer evening. Ranked #4 in Walkerplus' Osaka summer event ranking for 2026.
The festival is free to enter. Tennoji Park is a short walk from Tennoji Station, Osaka Abeno Bridge, and Dobutsuen-mae — easy to combine with a visit to the Tennoji Zoo, Abeno Harukas, or a dinner back in Namba.

Tips / アドバイス
The yagura dancing starts after sunset — that is the most atmospheric time.
やぐらの盆踊りは日没後が一番雰囲気が出る。
Handheld fireworks are paid and sell out — go early if you want to try.
手持ち花火は有料・売切れ早。試したい方は早めに。
Tennoji Park is huge — the Tenshiba entrance is on the north side, near the Tennoji Station side.
天王寺公園は広い。てんしば入口は北側、天王寺駅側にあります。
Combine with a visit to the Tennoji Zoo or Abeno Harukas in the afternoon.
午後は天王寺動物園やあべのハルカスと合わせるのがおすすめ。
