Tea-ceremony cafe from the Tsuboichi tea house, set on Namba City's first floor.
Saryou Tsuboichi Namba is a tea-ceremony cafe operated by Tsuboichi Seicha Honpo, a long-established Osaka tea merchant with roots in Sakai. The Namba City outlet follows the brand's "ichichu no sanki" concept of a mountain retreat within the city, pairing carefully selected teas with handmade sweets in a calm 27-seat room. The menu centres on matcha and sencha served with seasonal wagashi, alongside light sweets and tea-based drinks, and the shop also runs a retail corner for gifts and casual souvenirs plus takeaway items. Halal certification and food-safety accreditations extend the brand's careful sourcing into its cafe operation. For a moment of stillness in the middle of a busy shopping centre, Saryou Tsuboichi is a genuinely civilised choice. Its deep tea heritage and quiet atmosphere make it a favourite for travellers who want to understand Japanese tea beyond the teabag.

Visited this matcha cafe for a tea break. We could specify our seating preference. Once seated, we placed our order using a QR code and the menu is in English. Overall, we enjoyed our order, but the price was slightly higher compared to other cafes we visited during our trip.

It was so good but a bit pricey. Waiting time was long because every seat was preoccupied when we arrived and those customers reaaally took their time there. 😅 …

The matcha is pretty strong in umami which unfortunately I’m not a fan of. But the taste was still solid, the latte size is a bit small. I got their assorted sweets plate with hot hojicha tea. The hojicha tea and ice cream was the stand out …
