A halal Indonesian Padang-style restaurant on the fifth floor of a Dotonbori building.
Matahari Padang Dotonbori Halal is an Indonesian restaurant on the fifth floor of a Dotonbori building, serving Padang-style cuisine - the richly spiced, multi-dish tradition of West Sumatra, traditionally laid out across the table in small portions. Its halal certification makes it a clear address for Muslim travellers in Minami. The menu spans the Padang canon of rendang, gulai and sambal-laced dishes, served with rice in the style that defines the cuisine. The setting is casual and geared to a proper sit-down meal rather than a quick bite. For halal Indonesian food in the heart of Dotonbori, Matahari Padang offers a focused, cuisine-specific option in an area short on such alternatives.

Great Indonesian food. Portion is quite good. The service is quite fast. Can cater 20+ people at one time. The view is amazing, from the high floor. Easy to access, just need to be careful on the ground floor for its signboard. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Lots of people came here during my visit.

The best place to experience authentic Indonesian cuisine. The chef is Indonesian, and when we arrive, we’ll meet some local Indonesian workers who work nearby, in addition to other Indonesian tourists like us.
