Long-established French restaurant since 1980 on Shinsaibashisuji's 6th floor.
Amitie is a French restaurant founded in 1980, hidden on the sixth floor of a building just one minute from Daimaru Shinsaibashi. Now in its 45th year, the restaurant offers classic French cuisine in a calm, away-from-the-crowd setting, with the chef-owner and his team building seasonal lunch and dinner menus around the natural flavours of vegetables. The lunch service features full-course and chef's courses, while dinner brings premium ingredients and the chef's creative sensibility. Memorial courses for anniversaries and birthdays are a speciality, with complimentary aperitifs or soft drinks for online reservations. Foie gras is offered when import restrictions allow, as a course add-on. With its tucked-away location, vintage French atmosphere and decades of consistency, Amitie is a trusted choice for a quiet celebration or an unhurried meal in the Shinsaibashi area. The personalised hospitality and warm, unhurried pace set it apart from the busier dining floors below.Operating Hours

I visited on a weekday after making a reservation. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, without any formality. There were three ladies nearby who were having a lively conversation, which was a little distracting, but the staff kindly asked, "Are you alright?" Everything was delicious, but the vegetables were especially tasty 😋 Oh, and the soup was surprisingly delicious too 😋 The dishes as a whole were beautifully presented and delicious; it's a restaurant I'd definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited for a weekday dinner to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. Booking through their website is a good deal as it includes a complimentary drink. It's close to Shinsaibashi Station Exit 6; take the elevator at the back of the building to the 6th floor. The interior has a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. They only offer set courses, priced at 6000 yen, 7000 yen, etc. I ordered the 6000 yen course. • Amuse-bouche Turnip, with a corn puree underneath. They said the extract is aged for about 10 days to create a rich flavor. • Appetizers featuring natural vegetables and seasonal ingredients: Kaga thick cucumber, daikon radish, banana pepper, micro cucumber, potato puree, round okra, zucchini, snow pea sprouts, green tomatoes, smoked salmon from Tottori Prefecture, long green eggplant, herbs (fennel) • Onion potage: Onion ice cream • Choice of main course: Choose from beef steak, today's meat dish, today's fish dish, etc. I chose the beef steak. • Bread: Refills are available. It's served warm, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but it gets quite hard over time. • Dessert and drink: Coconut pudding, coconut ice cream Before the meal, you're shown the vegetables used in the course. There were many unusual vegetables, and I enjoyed listening to the explanations. You can tell that all the dishes using lots of vegetables are made with care and effort. I was particularly impressed by the appearance and taste of the appetizers. Not only were the vegetables excellent, but the main course steak was also tender and delicious. The service was wonderful, and I had a pleasant experience from start to finish. I also appreciated that the chef explained the dishes to me. My friend was also very satisfied with the delicious food. We enjoyed lively conversation while eating delicious food, and had a wonderful time.
