About This Event / イベントについて
The winter edition of the Dotonbori River Manto-sai is a new event (started 2025) that brings the summer lantern display to the cold months. Paper lanterns line the canal-side promenade from Ebisu Bridge to Tazaemon Bridge, casting warm light on Dotonbori's winter nights.
It's a quieter, more contemplative version of the summer manto-sai — best paired with hatsumode at nearby Hozenji Temple. The lanterns' glow beneath the year-round neon creates a uniquely Dotonbori winter scene, and viewing is free.
