About This Event / イベントについて
Osaka Castle Park, a 10-minute subway ride from Dotonbori, is one of Japan's great hanami (cherry blossom viewing) destinations. Around 3,000 cherry trees — mostly somei-yoshino — spread across the park, with the iconic castle keep rising above the blossoms.
The Nishinomaru Garden on the castle's west side is the prime spot: roughly 300 trees laid out in formal rows, with the floodlit castle as backdrop. It's a paid area (¥350) during the 観桜ナイター (kanou nighter, Mar 20–Apr 12, 18:00–21:00), but the surrounding park is free and packed with picnicking locals each evening.
